SHBC – Revenues Inspector
Job Description
We are looking for enthusiastic, committed and well organised individual to join us in delivering a professional and exceptional Revenues & Benefits service.
As the revenues inspector, your main role will be to ensure that all newly built commercial and domestic properties within the borough are identified so they can be billed in a timely manner. In addition to the main duties of visiting all properties under construction to monitor work you will undertake ad-hoc visits to assess disabled banding reduction applications and section 44a relief. You will ensure all inspections and visits are accurately recorded either on the I-World computer system or on manual systems and databases. Detailed notes will be kept of any complex or contentious matters in case of future reference or presentation at a Valuation Tribunal.
Ideally you should have previous experience of working in a local taxation environment and will have worked in a customer orientated environment. Although not essential, experience of Northgate Iworld systems would be an advantage along with the knowledge of a document imaging system. However, full training and support will be provided for the successful candidate.
You must be reliable, confident and able to work under pressure and hold a full, valid Driving License. You will have experience of dealing with customer enquiries both in person and on the telephone.
