A prehistoric arrival takes over Camberley

There’s a rumble in the jungle at The Square! The shopping centre, located in the heart of Camberley town centre, has welcomed six prehistoric beasts for its Jurassic Camberley summer.

Guests to the shopping centre are invited to step back in time for a summer of dino-mite free family fun across the school holidays, in collaboration with The Atrium shopping centre and Collectively Camberley BID. In celebration of the return of Jurassic World in cinemas, The Square has seen the arrival of a spectacular dinosaur trail complete with six animatronic life size replicas for some roaring fun.
After its opening on Saturday 26th July, families flocked to take on the fun and educational trail around the shopping centre, with young explorers picking up a trail guide from the Customer Service Desk to set out to visit all marked locations and answer the prehistoric quiz. Completed forms could then be submitted back to the Customer Service Desk to be entered to WIN a £250 Love Camberley gift card for the ultimate day out in the town centre – with a winner drawn at the end of the summer.
The opening day of the Jurassic Camberley fun also saw The Square launch their social media competition on their Facebook page, asking visitors to comment their best dino photos on their pinned post alongside the hashtag #JurassicCamberley to be entered to win a £100 Love Camberley gift card. Entries are already flying in, showcasing all the fun that can be had at the centre!
Jurassic Camberley marks the second town-wide collaboration between Centre Manager Gavin Vidler of The Square, and Ray Walker of The Atrium after their successful Alice’s Camberley Adventure across Easter – this time however the Business Improvement District Collectively Camberley is also getting involved in the action.
The Atrium will be joining in the pre-historic fun with a series of free activities to enjoy until Saturday 2nd August, with everything from digging for fossils, volcano-themed playdough fun and even a roaming dinosaur day which kicked things off on Saturday 19th July – the perfect accompaniment to a trip to watch Jurassic World Rebirth at Vue!
