Camberley Theatre and Surrey Heath Borough Council are delighted to announce the appointment of Andy Edmeads as the theatre’s new Venue & Operations Manager.

Camberley Theatre and Surrey Heath Borough Council are delighted to announce the appointment of Andy Edmeads as the theatre’s new Venue & Operations Manager. Andy has been at Camberley Theatre since 2014, and was promoted to his new position in November 2016, making the record breaking ‘Cinderella’ the first show completely under his leadership.

‘Cinderella’ has beaten box office records to become the highest-grossing pantomime in Camberley Theatre’s history. The theatre welcomed over 13,000 people through the doors and sold in excess of £192,000 worth of tickets.

This year Camberley Theatre was proud to support Challengers, a charity based in Guildford which provides exciting and challenging leisure opportunities for disabled children and young people. Thanks to the wonderful generosity of the ‘Cinderella’ audiences, a total of £2285.04 was raised for Challengers.

Andy Edmeads is thrilled with pantomime’s success;

“I am delighted with the success of Cinderella; it was a magical production from start to finish and I’m so pleased our audiences loved watching it as much as we did making it! Our cast, crew and staff were a delight to work with and we’re already excited at the thought of 2017’s pantomime, ‘Peter Pan’!”

Andy trained at the University of Exeter and has worked professionally in theatre for over 15 years first as a performer and later youth theatre director, writer and venue manager, co-founding The Arc in Caterham in 2010.

Working with Hugh Laurie and Benedict Cumberbatch on ITV’s ‘Fortysomething’ he has also lent his voice to numerous radio and TV commercials and can be heard on the EA Games release ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’. Andy has also been fortunate enough to work with the likes of Stephen Mangan, Adrian Edmondson and Rob Brydon.

Andy has been at Camberley Theatre since December 2014 in a number of roles and is very happy to take over as Venue and Operations Manager;

“I’ve enjoyed my two years at Camberley Theatre immensely and I’m now looking forward to working with the great team here in my new role to continue to provide a top class entertainment venue for Camberley and beyond”
