I was educated in both England (Plymouth), and South Africa. My hobbies always included model making, small fantasy set building and art. I eventually went to the equivalent of a Polytechnic in Cape Town and studied to be an Architectural Draughtsman.
I worked for a plethora of Architects until 1982 when I went back to college, Joburg, and studied Interior Design.
I graduated in 1985 and returned to England where I worked for designers like Jon Bannenburg and Jack Lovell of Morgan Lovell. In 1987 aged 26 I gave up employment and started my own design practice.
Since then I have built over 170 restaurants and bars along with over 40 nightclubs across the UK and Europe. My most famous nightclub design is Turnmills in London. The design and build project that I am most proud of is High Pavement, Warwick.
My hobby is design, my passion is the same.
